So where were you?

This post is inspired by the Depute Head at Elgin High School, who this morning suggested to the 4th year during their assembly that they should remember today and what they were doing. In just the same way people remember where they were when JFK was shot.

Today - all expectation aside - history is being made. The USA will have a black African/American President. This is momentous.

So where was I today? Well here goes:

8.45am Elgin High School 4th year Assembly
9.15-11.15am The Church Office, Elgin: St Giles and St Columba's South
11.15-12.45pm Starbucks, Elgin High Street
1.45pm Keith Grammar School (appt with Andy's Guidance Teacher and the Depute Head)
2.15-6.20pm at home savouring the moment
7.00pm - Presbytery National Mission Committee
8.20pm-> bedtime - at home

So really it has been a pretty ordinary day in the life of this rag-doll. But thanks to the wonders of the Internet I can record them for posterity.

It would be really great to hear what you were doing on this momentous day - please tell me - where were you?

0830 driving the kids to school as it was raining; 0940 stuck in a traffic jam on the M77; 1000 coffee in Starbucks at Silverburn; 1000-1230 shopping; 1230 coffee and reading in Costas; 1430 coffee (do you see a pattern forming?) with friend at Hayes; 1800 making tea, folding washing etc; 2030 writing this...

A fairly non typical day for me really... was taking time out to draw breath! But I will be able to say with confidence if anyone ever asks me what I was doing when history was being made across the pond... I was drinking coffee!!
